Citizens of the Quarter

Current Citizens of the Quarter

Perry County Health Department recognizes the First Presybyterian Church of Pinckneyville as their Citizens of the Quarter.

Several years ago the ladies of the First Presybyterian Church of Pinckneyville decided to become "godmothers" to mothers in need. They and other members of the congregation have generously supplied diapers, wipes, baby clothes, cribs, strollers, and the like to our WIC clients in need. Bably clothes and layettes have been lovingly hand-mad as well as HUNDREDS of baby blankets. PCHD and our clients are extremely grateful for their kindness.

Reverend and Mrs. Charles Smith and the Roe’s Dale Baptist Church congregation have consistently made gifts available to all citizens in need of baby supplies. Through their generosity the toiletries supply mothers in need beyond the ordinary reach of the health department. The supplies, which greatly improve a child’s quality of life, are available to the WIC clients of the Perry County Health Department on any visit to the health department.

Perry County WIC parents are vulnerable to not being able to afford baby supplies. Through the Smiths and Roe’s Dale Baptist Church members, parents have the support necessary to raise healthy and well cared for children. The congregation collects items such as diapers, shampoo, lotion, clothing and canned foods.

Hats off to Roe’s Dale Baptist Church members for their consistent and unselfish generosity.
